On Thursday, June 13th, 2013, Blonde Art Books was joined by some of Detroit’s most interesting writers, artists, illustrators, poets, and book-makers for our event at Salt & Cedar, a letterpress studio in the heart of Eastern Market in Detroit.
About mid-way through the evening, Megan O’Connell, artist and owner of Salt & Cedar gave an introduction that spoke to the mission of the studio, which was followed by a presentation by Maia Asshaq of DittoDitto, a reading from one issue of Stupor Zine by Steve Hughes, and brief presentations by Laura Beyer, as well as Andy Gabrysiak. Each of these individuals are Detroit based publishers who displayed their books on the shared table throughout the event. Other participants included Rotland Press, Eleni Zaharopoulos, Davin Brainard, and Lightworks Magazine.
