On December 10, 2013 Blonde Art Books moved out of Schema Projects, a gallery in Bushwick, New York. The gallery was our permanent home for almost one year, opening its doors on January 25, 2013. Many thanks to Mary Judge for being the most generous host to the project.
The beautiful spiral shelf (designed, constructed, and installed by Radek Szczesny) displayed recent publications by international artists and presses, many of which have been featured on the website. These include books and journals by Swill Children, Capricious, Diana Artus, Hannah Whitaker, Erica Baum, Badlands Unlimited, Conveyor, Julia Sherman, Shifter, Peradam, Picturebox, Frog Peak Press, and many more. The bookshelves also included a selection of books from our exhibitions Render Visible , The scenery changes three times, as well as the book table at Triple Canopy‘s marathon reading of Gertrude Stein’s The Making of Americans.
In 2013 we organized the group show The scenery changes three times with Brian Belott, Matthew Craven, Sara Cwynar, and Jen Liu, as well as the first BABZ FAIR in the gallery.
Please continue to follow the blog and support the artists and small presses featured here. If you would like to find out about our upcoming events and exhibitions please subscribe to the blog and/or you can also follow us on facebook.
