1. DUC Library Program Coordinator

The Distribution to Underserved Communities Library Program (DUC) of Art Resources Transfer is seeking a part time Program Coordinator. Art Resources Transfer, Inc., founded in 1987, is a growing non-profit organization with two interconnected, program areas: publishing (A.R.T. Press), and the free distribution of books to underserved communities (DUC Library Program). The DUC Library Program distributes books on contemporary art and culture free of charge to rural and inner-city public schools and libraries nationwide. The program creates access to information on current cultural topics and artists by enriching and diversifying public library collections. Fostering relationships with publishers, museums, galleries, and non-profit organizations to donate their publications, the DUC provides resources that under funded public learning centers could otherwise not afford to acquire. An yearly average of 25,000 books are distributed nationwide. The Program Coordinator will be principally responsible to administer existing and develop new relationships with donating publishers and librarians. This includes securing donations of new titles, coordinating incoming shipments of books, as well as overseeing the packing and restocking of the donated material. Additional duties include researching funding opportunities and grant-writing. Part time hours are M – TH 10am – 5pm. Applicant must enjoy working in a collaborative environment and have the ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be well organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate initiative as well as mature judgment. Computer literacy is essential as is excellent writing and communication skills.
